That’s a huge missed learning opportunity in a country where a third of kids don’t graduate from high school. A decade of research confirms that kids are more likely to attend school, improve their achievement and take ownership of their learning when they get a chance to create, play on a team, get academic support and enrichment and explore new horizons in the hours beyond the traditional school day.
TASC works with New York City public schools to expand kids’ learning time and opportunities at a cost that can reach all students—not just the lucky few who make it into exceptional schools. But we can’t accommodate all the schools that want to work with us. So kids with the fewest advantages wait.
